SEATS
Potential Consequences:
Good evening, I’m not sure if I’m doing this correctly. The reason I’m writing this letter is because my wife was currently driving a Nissan Rogue 2016 SV until we purchased a new car this year. I cannot recall exactly when I started to hear the noise or feel my driver seat on my Nissan Rogue rocking back when accelerating and rocking forward when pressing the brakes normally. I verify my VIN number to see if there a was a recall for my vehicle because I thought Nissan sent an email pertaining to certain Rogues were having seat issues. I took my Nissan Rogue to Bill Seidle’s Nissan in Miami to get my regular maintenance and I ask them to check my driver’s seat. My Rogue had 85,056 when I took it to the dealer on 10/9/2023. The dealer stated the driver seat had excessive play because of the railings. This repair will cost $1,747.57 parts and labor. The price of the seat frame ranges from $1,200.00 to $1,400.00. I do not know what the threshold for a vehicle is to be place under recall list, however I do think, an investigation should start with the 2016 Nissan Rogue. There are blogs regarding the driver’s seat of the Nissan Rogue with the same problem that I have. I did reach out to Nissan customer support however I lost my case number. My concern is what happens if I get rear ended. How much does my weight affects the frame or the railing. Is the railing weak from the manufacturer and as a consumer I have to $1,700.00. [XXX] [XXX] Thank you, INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Follow up from Nissan district regional manager was the same as the Nissan dealership. They refuse to help and have zero issues sending people off onto the road with an unsafe vehicle that can stall or stop at any time. There needs to be another class action lawsuit opened for all of the people who are still experiencing these problems because there are a ton of Nissan Rogue owners who have transmission issues that the dealership refuses to acknowledge and fix.

I am back at the Nissan dealer to fix a recall but also to express my continued concerns regarding the clunking noise that I keep hearing when I accelerate. A year ago I was told by this same Nissan dealer that it was part of the transmission and there was nothing that they could do for me. Today I requested for it to be looked into again and the report back is they test drove it and hear no noise which is a LIE. I hear it every single time I drive my car and now u am being sent back on the road to drive a car I feel unsafe in. Nissan intentionally ignores you simply because there is no check engine light on despite there being a problem driving the car. They are forcing time to pass on so that the warranty and mileage is past the point of them being accountable to fix the issue. I don’t recommend anyone buying a Nissan rogue because they don’t care whether or not you feel safe.

POWER TRAIN
Potential Consequences:
Driving home on the highway my car begin to rev high, but lose speed, then again when I went to pass in the passing lane, I pulled over for about 5mins, then proceeded to drive, about 2 mins in it started doing it again, but this time it made noises, and was vibrating/shuddering as if something was in the gears, I pulled over and got roadside assistance which in-turn led to the towing of my car to a safe location. once off the flatbed, I went to park my car, it did all the noises and revving once again, but as I placed it in park there was fast clicking sound and the car rolled back (while in park), I then applied the brakes harder then released again, and it began to roll again... once again I applied the brakes, as well as the parking brake and it remained stationary.

A transmission issue with my vehicle first occurred on the highway. I purchased the vehicle in 2021 from Carvana who stated all open recalls had been taken care of. When I took the car into the dealership for the transmission issue, Nissan said the recall expired a couple months ago and would not honor the expired class action lawsuit. I'm trying to see what my options are for getting this repair done.

My car key fob is in perfect working conditions with no defect. I was told by a person my key fob, would ve deactivated if it wasn't repaired. I dont have a broken fob. So if my car can't lock and it gets stolen, I will sue Nissan, and and will go after those who can't just change or replace the gobs with some thing updated.

POWER TRAIN
Potential Consequences:
While driving on a major highway, my newly licensed 16-year-old son experienced shuddering, jerking (slight at first, but progressively worse) and failure to take off from a traffic light. He turned on the emergency flashing lights to alert other drivers, and he was able to take off about 5 seconds later, but the RPMs raced sporadically and acceleration stopped working. He drifted into a left turn lane and prayed he would make it across two lanes of active traffic without stopping. My independent service center and our closest dealer confirmed diagnosis (transmission replacement needed) and I had to have it towed to the dealer through my insurance company. NO WARNING LAMPS OR MESSAGES APPEARED PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT. Nissan was unwilling to provide any financial assistance or goodwill toward the necessary transmission replacement, although this is a known defect in CVT transmissions. Their only action has been service bulletins and a settlement for an extra 24,000 miles beyond the original 60,000. I am fortunate my son was not a casualty of this poor craftsmanship, but I guess since no one has died yet, Nissan doesn't have to do the right thing and recall these faulty transmissions. Poor customer service and poor vehicles. This is my fourth Nissan, and two of them have had transmission issues. I will NEVER buy another. My family is too valuable to risk in one of these experiments.
