FREE Recall Solution:
Dealers will replace the under hood shift bushing and add a protective cap over the shift cable bushing, free of charge. A component within the door latches may break making the doors difficult to latch and/or leading the driver or a passenger to believe a door is securely closed when, in fact, it is not.

Safety Issue:

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2016 Ford Fusion vehicles manufactured from March 10, 2016, through March 16, 2016. Potential Consequences:

1. AIR BAG SENSOR STAYS ON, AS IF I HAVE A MALFUNCTIONING UNIT THAT WILL BURST AT ANY TIME. NO MATTER WHAT I DO, IT ALWAYS STAYS ON. THERE IS NO WAY TO TURN THE SENSOR OR THE AIRBAGS OFF, SO I CANNOT DISENGAGE THEM AND KEEP THEM FROM EXPLODING UNNECESSARILY. 2. THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT SHIFT PROPERLY. Potential Consequences:

WHEN I WENT OUT TO MY PARKED CAR IN THE DRIVEWAY THIS MORNING, ALL OF MY WINDOWS WERE DOWN. AT FIRST, I HAD THOUGHT THAT SOMEONE HAD BROKEN INTO MY CAR, AND I LOOKED FOR BROKEN GLASS, SIGNS OF FORCED ENTRY, AND MY BELONGINGS TO BE STREWN ALL OVER MY CAR. HOWEVER, THERE WAS NONE OF THE ABOVE. MY CAR WAS JUST AS IT HAD BEEN WHEN I LEFT IT AROUND 7:00 PM THE NIGHT BEFORE, AND NOTHING HAD EVEN BEEN MISPLACED FROM WHERE I HAD LEFT IT. I WAS COMPLETELY FLUMMOXED, UNTIL I DO A GOOGLE SEARCH FOR 2016 FORD FUSION ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS, AND SAW THAT THERE WERE A NUMBER OF PEOPLE THAT REPORTED VARIOUS ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH MY PARTICULAR MODEL THAT RESULTED IN THEIR CAR'S WINDOWS ROLLING DOWN WITHOUT CAUSE. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME, THANKFULLY, BUT I CAN'T RISK THIS HAPPENING AGAIN, ESPECIALLY WHEN THERE'S INCLEMENT WEATHER.

Additional Notes:

WHEN I'M GOING DOWN HILL AT HIGH SPEEDS , THE TRANSMISSION DOWN SHIFT VERY HARD WHEN I APPLY THE BRAKE AT ALL. IT SOUNDS LIKE A VERY LOUD REVVING. ONCE I PRESS THE ACCELERATOR AGAIN IT GOES BACK TO NORMAL. IT'S VERY CONCERNING , MY CAR HAS 59,000 MILE ON IT AND DEALER SAYS THEY COULDN'T FEEL ANYTHING, WELL THAT PROBABLY BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T DRIVE IT DOWN HILL.

ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC)

Potential Consequences:

THROTTLE BODY/FUEL RAIL PRESSURE SENSOR FAILURE. I BELIEVE THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS PART FOR THE EARLIER FUSION MODELS, BUT NOT THE 2016 MODELS, AND THAT RECALL SHOULD BE UPDATED. WHILE EITHER DRIVING UNDER 40MPH OR SITTING IDLE, THE CAR'S ENGINE WOULD SHUT OFF WHILE THE ELECTRICS WOULD REMAIN ON. THIS CAN CAUSE OTHER VEHICLES TO CRASH INTO ME AND CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR WORSE.
